Peter Stutchbury Architecture
Peter Stutchbury is an Australian born architect and a recipient of the AIA Gold Medal. He has run a successful practice for over 40 years and his work stems from the land. Peter Stutchbury has been the subject of three books and a documentary, and he has given multiple lectures in over 30 countries. He has held the Luis Barragan chair (Mexico), visiting professor (Arizona, Columbia, Chile, South Africa and Bangladesh) and has taught at masterclasses to more than 1600 students from over 82 countries. In 2015 Peter Stutchbury and Fernanda Cabral formed the PSA Foundation, a non-for-profit organisation undertaking voluntary community building work in favelas in Salvador Brazil.Peter carries a deep knowledge and understanding of his country, its climate, landscape and culture. The rigour of his design thinking and the innovation of his technical resolution combine with his commitment to share his knowledge through teaching. He has made a significant contribution to the discipline of architecture, to its future and to the body of knowledge which is cumulative.
